It was a slow day for the Americans, as the U.S.'s lone medal came from Julia Mancuso's bronze in the super combined. As you can tell from the photo, she was slightly more excited about her bronze than Hannah Kearney was about hers a couple of days ago.
Otherwise, it was more of the same. The Netherlands swept a speedskating event. Canada won two golds and a silver to take the lead in the medal count (technically, they're tied with the Netherlands and Norway with seven apiece, but Canada has more golds and silvers). The U.S. is fifth, just behind the home team Russians.

U.S.'s Best Chance to Medal
It's a big day for U.S. favorites, old and new. Shaun White is the face of snowboarding and he's won the last two gold medals in the halfpipe. He's the one to beat, but considering how finnicky the course is, the weather is ripe for an upset.
Speedskater Heather Richardson, who could take home multiple medals from these Games, gets her first chance in the 500m, while Sarah Hendrickson could also wind up on the podium in the first-time sport of women's ski jumping.
And the U.S. also has a rare favorite in a cross country competition, as Kikkan Randall and Keri Herman have a good chance of going one-two in the sprint.
